It’s a south East Asian thing to pinch a bit of salt atop summer fruits to enhance the flavor. Some add chili, I like it plain. It’s not for everyone but if you’re going to try it, give it a whirl with Malden sea flakes. I mean really, just amazing salt. It’s salt without the salty. Mild and wonderful. Can’t wait to bake with it but right now its melody is accompanying my mom’s home grown guava she shipped from California for me overnight.
