Pivot art + culture: philanthropy and art in Seattle

Very Guai combinations: Philanthropy  and art. Expression and introspection. Interpretation and collaboration. All these things are free at pivot art + culture, Pivot art, a gem of a gallery free for all at the Paul Allen institute in Seattle.

Before we entered, I asked the kids to have “gallery arms” – arms behind their backs as they peruse and observe and wonder what the artist was thinking in developing and creating that piece. But as soon as we turned the corner we see live art and participatory art.  No fussiness here. Awesomeness. Easels and supplies awaited for interaction. Nothing like a naked sculpture that pisses in a bucket to bring art accessibility and humor to children.

Seattle’s tech boom has brought in amazing archictecture, restaurants and art. Come visit.
