You had me at nutella: crowd pleasing and easy entertaining with crepes 

So I’ve been playing the Safeway monopoly game and haven’t won a thing. A very nice person gave me 95 game pieces and I won a free jar of Nutella! Small victories. What goes with Nutella? Crepes. 

Sure there are skilled and patient people willing to pour razor thin crepes in a pan but I have guests and three children to please…so we bust out the electric crepe maker and snap, the party is ready to end on a high note. The gorgeous Niçoise salad and veggie lasagna was good  but the guests last night were more impressed by the jar of Nutella seducing from the corner.

Gather all your favorite filling trimmings and enjoy. I made one last night with Brie and pear.👍🏼

See below for my go to crepe batter from the recipe inside the maxim booklet. Way back in 1995 when we backpacked Europe during a college break some very nice boys at the University of Reading, UK introduced us American girls to the wonder of crepes and Nutella. This was before Google and recipes galore online – we were smitten and got ourselves a $20 electric crepe maker. It still works – pictured below. 

Crepe Recipe. It’s so perfect – do not adjust. 

1 cup all purpose flour presifted

3 eggs

3/4 cup milk

3/4 cup water

2 tablespoon butter, melted

1/4 teaspoon salt

Blend in a mixer and store for at least 4 hours or overnight. Good for a 2-3 days in fridge. I used this same recipe to make crepe Mille a la Lady M crepes in NYC. I’ve had 3 of their flavors and I think this recipe is perfect as a crepe base. 

Tip: the first few crepes on the electric crepe maker will be crumbly until the butter greases the surface.
